Follow three straightforward steps to save a video from X to your device. Just copy the tweet link, paste it into StatusDownloader, and choose your download option.

Once the preview loads, pick what you want to save. For videos, choose a quality if there's more than one option, then tap Download Video. For GIFs, tap Download GIF. For photos, tap Download Photo. Videos also give you the option to tap Download Audio (MP3) to save just the sound.
On iPhone: if Safari asks for confirmation, allow the download. Saved files appear in the Files app under Downloads.

Link Not Recognised
If the link is not a direct X or Twitter post link, the Preview button stays greyed out
and nothing happens. Open the post and copy its full link, including the /status/ part.
Private, Protected or Deleted Post
Private or protected posts cannot be downloaded. A deleted post cannot be either, and it reports This tweet has been deleted or is no longer available. Try a post you can still open while signed out of X.
Post Has No Media
A text-only post has nothing to download, and the page reports This tweet has no downloadable media. If it quotes a post with media, the quoted post may be checked instead.
GIF Downloaded as MP4
This is expected. X provides animated GIFs as silent video, so the downloaded file is MP4 rather than
.gif.
Connection Problem
A dropped connection stops the download before it finishes, and the page reports Network error. Please check your connection and try again. Check your connection and retry the same link.

How do I download a Twitter (X) video?
Copy the URL of a public post from X or Twitter.com and paste it into StatusDownloader. Select Preview, then choose the available video option and select Download Video.
Can I download Twitter GIFs?
Yes, from any public post. The saved file plays and loops like the original and carries no audio track, because that is how X stores animated GIFs in the first place.
Can I download just the audio from an X video?
Yes. When the post holds a video, the preview shows a Download Audio (MP3) button beside the video download, and the file is an MP3 at 192 kbps. This works for videos only. Animated GIFs have no audio track, and photos have no sound to take. If your link comes from somewhere other than X, the MP3 audio downloader handles those instead.
What format is a downloaded X photo?
Photos are downloaded as JPG files. The downloader uses the image size X makes available to it, so the file is not necessarily the creator's original full-size image. In a post with several photos, each one gets its own Download Photo button. There is no single file containing all of them.
Does this work with private Twitter accounts?
No. A protected account's posts are not public, so nothing on this page can read them. The same applies to a post that has since been made private.
Does a t.co short link work?
No. Open the post, copy its full x.com or twitter.com link, and paste that one instead.
Why isn't my Twitter link working?
Check the link first. It has to point to one specific post and contain /status/, and links
from x.com and twitter.com both work. When the downloader does not recognise a link, the Preview button
simply stays greyed out. If the link is right and Preview still fails, the post is usually gone or was
never public: deleted, from a protected account, or restricted since you saw it.
Is there a download limit?
There is no account quota or daily download cap. A shared anti-abuse limit of 50 requests per IP address every five minutes applies across the site. Repeat lookups of the same post are served from a five-minute cache.
Is it legal to download Twitter videos?
Save media only when you have the right to keep and use it: your own posts, something you have been given permission to use, or a case your local law allows. The person who made it still owns it, and X's own rules still apply. This page is not legal advice, so check before you reuse or republish anything.
